Cornelius
Cornelius is centered near Exit 28 of I-77. The west side of Cornelius is on the Lake Norman shoreline. There are a variety of stores and restaurants, 10 public parks, a championship golf course (at the Peninsula), bass fishing tournaments, and public access to the lake. Popular Cornelius communities include Robbins Park, Antiquity, Caldwell Station, Blue Stone Harbor, Patrick’s Purchase, and The Peninsula.
Davidson
Davidson is just north of Cornelius and extends from the shoreline of Lake Norman to the southeast. Interstate access is from Exit 30 of I-77. Davidson has a quaint downtown area with pedestrian-friendly streets, a farmer’s market, Mom and Pop shops, Davidson College, Lake Davidson Nature Preserve, various restaurants, lakeside dining, and Davidson Green. Popular communities include River Run, The Woodlands, Summer’s Walk, Anniston, and Bailey Springs.
Huntersville
Huntersville is on the southeast edge of Lake Norman, centered around Exits 23 and 25 of I-77. Huntersville has a small-town feel, yet it is close to the city. The town has undergone one of the most impressive transformations in the state, evolving from a sleepy farming area into a job center boasting 40,000 people. Huntersville is in the midst of it all – modern shopping centers and a wide variety of restaurants. The town also has top-notch medical facilities and access to Lake Norman, Latta Plantation, and Discovery Place Kids. Popular communities include Birkdale Village, Birkdale, Vermillion, Northstone, and Monteith Park.
Mooresville
Mooresville is on the northeast edge of Lake Norman with access from Exits 31 through 36 of I-77. Mooresville combines the appeal of small-town life with easy access to cultural and sporting events in Charlotte and Winston-Salem. The town has a historic downtown district, many shopping centers, lakeside dining, restaurants, lake access points, recreation centers, and parks. Mooresville is the home base for many NASCAR teams and hosts the annual Race City Festival. Popular communities include Alexander Island, Harbour at the Pointe, Shavenders Bluff, Sisters Cove, Pinnacle Shores, The Farms, and The Point.

Denver
Denver’s location on the west side of the lake has typically been quieter, with a “laid-back” and “easy-going” atmosphere. The town has centered around the old post office and stretches north and south along Highway 16. With a location that offers easy access to Charlotte and Hickory, yet still lets you feel away from it all with beautiful lake views and a small town atmosphere, it’s no wonder the area is predicted to continue to grow quickly in the coming years. People are beginning to discover the charm of the “other side of the lake, ” particularly Denver.
Troutman, Sherrills Ford, and Statesville
Troutman, Sherrills Ford, and Statesville are at the north end of Lake Norman and are experiencing continuing growth. They are near Mooresville, which has a large variety of shopping and restaurants. The north lake communities are relaxed and laid back, great for nature lovers and active outdoor lifestyles. Lake Norman State Park is a popular destination along the north shore of the lake. Popular communities include Northview Harbour in Sherrills Ford, Wildlife Bay in Troutman, Harbor Watch in Statesville, and Windemere Island in Statesville.
